I heart Barack Obama.
I love how I feel when I hear him speak. I love how he motivates millions to participate in an old system because they now believe CHANGE is possible. I love how he is an ordinary person doing extraordinary things. He moves me. He makes me want to believe in this country again and be proud to be an American.
I believe he will be a president that can bring both parties together. Just last night he gave examples of how we can come together on issues of abortion, same sex marriage, gun control and immigration. It is about compromise and looking at the issue in ways people haven’t done before. It even gave me ideas on how I can discuss issues that I feel so strongly about with my dad (we never agree on politics).
His acceptance speech last night at the Democratic convention was AMAZING to say the least. My favorite part was when he described McCain as a person that cares. He really believe McCain cares about this country and what he thinks is right. But, he just doesn’t get it. He doesn’t get that this country needs to be updated to the 21st century and handle issues in a new way. The old way isn’t working anymore. Americans feel like Washington doesn’t understand them, is too far removed and doesn’t care what they think. IT IS TRUE! Especially since the majority of people in Washington vote based on lobbyists and money from special interest groups. Obama is different. His money is from the people and he will vote for us.
Visit his site www.barackobama.com and watch his acceptance speech from the Democratic National Convention. I hope it will make you love him as much as I do and realize you need to get off your butt on November 4th and VOTE FOR BARACK OBAMA!!!!!
Exactly why I love him too. Well said. Just watching him talk about how presidential politics shouldn’t enter the debate on the bailout…. vs McCain’s self important play for power… it’s very clear who’s a leader. Yes it’s the power of speech, people call them empty words, or “just words”, but take it from someone who manages people – words are what leadership is about.
